Tags
Tags are used by 211 Resource Specialists to filter specific resource records. As an example, several 211s have 'tagged' selected resources with 'Kinship', allowing for searches with Tags set to 'Kinship' to be filtered. Tags can also be used to boost, rather than filter, search results. Boosting search results returns all search results matching the Keyword (and/or the Tag), and 'boosts' the results with matching 'tags' closer to the top of the search results. As an example, to fiter all resourcs (e.g Keyword = **) on Kinship, enter 'Kinship' in the Tags box. To return Kinship resources at the top of the search results, enter 'boost|Kinship' in the Tags box.
Linked Terms
A Linked Term (aka target) is a specific group (e.g. women) or issue (poverty) associated to a resource. More specifically, it is the Y taxonomy term applied to 211 resource records. When used in combination with keyword searches, results returned may be move relevant. As an example, using the Linked Term 'Women' for searches using the keyword 'shelter' will often return results more relevant than searches using the keywords 'womens shelter'. The quality of search results is dependent on how resource records are created. Other examples of linked terms include, Older Adults, Youth, Familes. Separate multiple targets by a comma, and remove space after comma (e.g. Women,Youth).
Order By
Searches will return all resources matching resources using the entered Keyword. Results are sorted by 'Relevance' or 'Distance'. By default, results are sorted by Relevance. Relevance is determined by the 'quality' of a search result match. The quality of a search result is determined using several factors, including how often the keywords appear in teh resource record, where the matches were made (e.g. program tile, taxonomy, description), and proximity of service location from entered Location. To sort search results based only on distance from Location, set Order By to 'distance'.

Taxonomy Codes
Enter one or more taxonomy codes to filter search results. If you want to search for resources by taxomomy code(s) only, rather than filtering keyword searches, set the Keyword to ** and enter one or more Taxonomy Codes. To filter on more than one taxonomy code, separate your list with a comma (and no spaces before or after comma) between each taxonomy code (e.g. BD-1800.1000,PH-6100.6800). Wildcards may also be used with Taxonomy Codes (e.g. BD* returns all taxonomy codes beginning with BD).

Subscription Key
A subscription key is required to access data from the 211 National Data Platform. A key is used to define the scope of data returned by the NDP, such as 211 data owners, location of services, etc. This application is configured with a default key that provides access to all data within the NDP. However, you can override the default key by entering it here. Keys are issued to NDP developer account holders. Your key(s) can be found under the Profile menu itme in the portal. Note that a custom key may impact the data and functionality of this application.
